Today, Netscape 6 can be as unique as you are. Are you a bit of a traditionalist? Then switch to the "classic" theme so the look of your browser is similar to the classic Netscape interface. Easy to switch themes
With Netscape 6, you don't have to download and reinstall a new browser or complicated application every time you want to switch the look. Install as many themes as you want, then just select one and click "Switch Theme" to switch to that theme. It is that easy to switch back and forth from one theme to another.
Choose from a variety of themes
To demonstrate how easy it is to switch between themes, Netscape 6 ships with two pre-installed themes: modern and classic. Modern is the default look that ships with Netscape 6. Classic is a look reminiscent of earlier Netscape browsers.
But it doesn't stop there. With the release of Netscape 6, developers will be creating more and more themes to fit their individual styles and brands. The next browser you get from your ISP, computer maker, or IS department might already have a theme that matches their branding. You might also choose a theme from moviemakers, media companies, schools, youth organizations or rock bands. You might also stumble upon a theme at another web site - anyone can easily post their own theme for their customers or friends to install.
Web Standards
Like the rest of Netscape 6, creating and changing themes is based on W3C web standards. For developers who wish to go beyond what the Themes Development Tool does, they can use web standards like XML and CSS to make additional changes to their themes.
This is not just a feature for Navigator, the web browser. Themes can change the look of all the components in Netscape 6 including Mail, Composer and Instant Messenger. Themes also can go deep into the look and feel of Netscape 6, changing the look of dialog boxes and menus, giving users the freedom to totally customize the look of Netscape 6.
